It’s estimated that there are between 100 to 150 million tons of plastic waste in the world’s oceans right now. Meaning that yes, the ocean is polluted — and that’s a major problem. Fish eat plastic particles, and as soon as we eat fish, we also ingest those particles. In addition, fewer and fewer ocean animals and plants can grow and thrive in these polluted ecosystems, which is bad for the environment as a whole. Hot or cold? Salty or sweet? Calm or fast? Are we sounding the alarm soon enough?
